Do You Want to Spend Eternity in Paradise?

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."  (John 14:6 NLT).  The only way to know for sure that you will spend eternity with God is through His Son, Jesus Christ.  The problem is, most of us want to do things our way rather than God's way.  That determination to rebel against God is called sin.

The Bible says that "all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard." (Romans 3:23 NLT). The word sin means "missing the mark." When we decide to live our lives by our own standards rather than by God’s standards, we are guilty of sin. The fact is, all people have, at some time in their lives, committed sin, because everyone has disobeyed God.

The Bible also says, "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23 NLT). The result of sin is a broken relationship with God. Those who never turn away from sin and choose not to obey God will spend eternity separated from God in hell.

Romans 6:23 goes on to say, "the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" (NLT). Nothing we do can pay the debt we owe for the sin we have committed. But, Jesus paid the debt for us. Through the sacrifice that Jesus made when He died on the cross for us, God offers salvation as a free gift to those who come to Jesus in faith. God’s gift includes a life full of new meaning now, and future eternal life with Him.

How can you be saved? Paul wrote, "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 NLT). Faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior is the only way to be saved. Faith starts by admitting your sin to God, then giving Jesus control of your life.
